"Basement" is a project whose concept was conceived by me in partnership with Marcelle Primo, my former graduate colleague in Creative Processes.
We created "scenes" specifically constructed with objects supposedly without utility or meaning. Through photography and image editing, these objects are reborn into a new story after their "death."
Original excerpt from the written document about the work:
"The basement. A basement inhabited by someone who would like to abandon pieces of broken memories, shattered recollections, and broken objects. A place like this does not possess the logic of past, present, and future times. They are illogical times, without a narrative with an ending. Illusion is what occupies this space: from the most harmful and violent to the most restorative for those who experience them. The intimate archives of those who disintegrate in time are an invitation to the basement. The basement that (pre)occupies us."
