Spix Macaw Association

Technique:
Vector illustration
Founded by wildlife veterinarians Rogério Venâncio, Plínio Mantovani, and Marco Romero, this association is dedicated to the conservation of one of the most critically endangered species in the world: the Spix's macaw (Cyanopsitta spixii).
Upon the organization's official establishment, I was invited to develop an emblem in which the animal, the focus of the conservation work, needed a faithful yet simplified representation.
The vectorization process for this illustration was particularly difficult because it was a result that would appeal to highly technical observers. The Spix's macaw, in addition to having very similar species variations, possesses many nuances in coloration and texture, especially around the eyes, a rough area. The vector image structure, cleaner than a painting, for example, must be very well crafted to achieve aspects that are, let's say, realistic enough to identify a specific species through its graphic application.
During its development, the Spix Macaw Association (its name in Portuguese - Brazil) received partnerships, including from Qatar, where its founding members traveled as speakers, wearing the developed emblem on their uniforms.
