"Retalhos" (Patches) is a series of 16 digital collages made from isolated, pre-processed black and white photographs.

For the most part, building facades, statues in squares, and other rustic references served as the basis for numerous cutouts that, spontaneously combined, emulate something recognizable to humans, be it a wasp or an ancestral totem.

Note: none of the pieces knew what they would be until, during the assembly of the patches, they created their identities almost on their own.

It was a very interesting creative exercise in "postponing judgment," an essential habit during brainstorming or generating alternatives, for achieving innovative results in any graphic production: "I don't know what it is until it is, after a period of testing."

In addition, I also exercised a recurring characteristic in my work: the "series," that is, the creation of a pattern in several pieces. It's like a concept album, where the tracks tell a story through music, all participating in an overall concept. In my case, the stories are told through images.
